This program service provides an environment for youth with serious behavior and emotional problems to identify and address issues that required removal from the family setting. Such issues most commonly include a combination of pronounced anger management problems, serious substance abuse issues, habitual truancy and offending behavior. Typically, these children have an existing DSM IV diagnosis as well as a multiple placement history. The goal is to stabilize children within a therapeutic environment, with an emphasis on group and individual counseling. Youth attend public schools and have the opportunity to participate in recreational and cultural enrichment activities. Youth are provided the opportunity to seek employment, and staff provide individual job coaching. Families are encouraged to participate in program services as much as possible in order to assist with family reunification. This service level is intended to be short term in nature, with step down to Foster Care or Independent Living services the goal.
* ability to provide clinical assessment and assign DSM IV diagnosis
* ability to put together a treatment team to effectively address behavioral and and emotional issues with the child and the family
* develop an Individual Treatment Plan within 30 days
* 24/7 supervision by trained staff
* regular, detailed reporting of progress toward stated outcomes
